Funding
In Texas, the funding received by the charter school from the state, and from local property taxes, is for the cost associated with educating children. While Charter schools receive roughly the same per pupil expenditure for maintenance and operations as any other Texas public school, they do NOT receive any capital funding. It is left up to the sponsoring organization of the charter school to raise the funds needed for facilities. Seashore Learning Center is sponsored by the Island Foundation.
